The perils of allowing unlimited immigration for people with fundamentally un-American values

The jury is currently deliberating in the Washington state murder trial against Ihsan and Zahraa Ali, who are accused of trying to murder their daughter. It’s not getting a lot of coverage, but it should because of the insight into a culture our immigration policy currently welcomes in.

According to witness testimony during the trial, in October 2024, the burly Ihsan Ali, his wife, Zahraa, intercepted another daughter, Fatima, outside of her high school. In full view of other students, including Fatima’s boyfriend, who was standing next to her, Ihsan grabbed Fatima, punched her boyfriend in the face as he tried to rescue her, put her into a chokehold from behind, pulled her to the ground, and tightened his grip.

Several witnesses, many of whom tried to intervene, testified that Fatima’s face turned purple and her eyes rolled to the back of her head until she lost consciousness. Ihsan let go only when an adult male (ex-military) drove by, saw what was happening, and rescued Fatima, holding Ihsan until the police arrived.

Witnesses also testified that, once Ihsan was restrained, Zahraa tried to grab Fatima, scream loudly that she and her other daughter (who was present) had been abused by police (something witnesses denied), and worried about her arrested husband.

Meanwhile, Fatima and her boyfriend managed to get themselves into the school and were secured in the main office. School staff described her as staggering, her voice raspy, and that she had a terrified look on her face. Her mother ran into the school demanding her daughter back. She did so despite having been banned from campus a month prior for attempting to grab Fatima’s boyfriend.

According to the defense, the entire scenario was the reasonable care and parental discipline of a wayward daughter.

That was what happened in court.

However, there is a backstory that the judge ruled was inappropriate for the jury because it could trigger cultural biases. Seventeen-year-old Fatima was about to be sent on a one-way trip to Iraq, her parents’ homeland, where she was about to be forced into marriage with a much older man (50s or 60s). When Fatima went to school that day, she was trying to avoid being sent to Iraq and a life as a bride slave to a stranger.

The judge refused to allow the jury to hear this backstory or even the term honor killing. Fatima, in her own testimony, said her parents were not affectionate with her, and there were no hugs.

Contrary to the defense, Ishan’s and Zahraa’s behavior was not a display of parental caring. These were two parents ready and determined to murder their daughter for what they perceived as disobedience. She had an American boyfriend, and she didn’t want to submit to an arranged marriage in Iraq. For that, they fully believed it was their right to murder her to protect the family’s honor.

As the parents sit in court, mom covered forehead to toe in a shapeless garment, dad in Western clothes, both expressionless and dead-eyed, betraying no emotion except perhaps a low-boil anger, I can’t help but wonder if some of their contempt is for American jurisprudence. After all, in a Sharia court, they would not have been convicted, and Fatima would never be seen again. Here, they must endure the indignities of a female judge and two female prosecutors denying them, in their opinion, the right to murder a disobedient girl to preserve family honor. Fatima, by testifying, is dishonoring them further.

This case juxtaposes Sharia law with American law. Therefore, the parents must receive the most severe punishment possible to make it clear that Sharia law will not be tolerated here.

Beyond that, however, this case is an indictment of our immigration policy.

We Americans must ask ourselves, why did we let the Ali family move here in the first place? Why did we permit and even welcome people with their worldview to live here? They have contempt for everything this country stands for. They bring harm to us as a nation.

We see it everywhere, in Maine, in Minneapolis, in New York City, on college campuses, in the hatred and the pro-Hamas demonstrations. The Sharia mentality is harming our country. Why the hell are they here?

Why do we import people who think that daughter murder, infidel murder, spousal abuse, hatred of the West, love of intifada, and hatred and contempt for Christians and Jews are divinely ordained?

And beyond that question, now that they are here, from the Alis, to Mahmoud Khalil, to immigration fraudster Ilhan Omar, how can we repatriate them to the lands more consistent with their values and dearer to their hearts as soon as possible? What lessons as a society must we learn from Washington vs. Ali? And whatever we learn, we’d better learn fast.

EXCLUSIVE: New Data Shows Arrests of Criminal Illegal Aliens Have Made a ‘Real Impact on Public Safety,’ DHS Official Announces

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Violent crime is on the decline in the U.S. following the arrest and removal of criminal illegal aliens, the Department of Homeland Security announced Monday.  

“Under President [Donald] Trump and [DHS Secretary Kristi] Noem, our law enforcement is working at lightning speed to remove violent criminal illegal aliens from the U.S.,” Tricia McLaughlin, DHS assistant secretary, said in a press release given first to The Daily Signal.  

“Every single day we are arresting gang members, murderers, pedophiles, and violent predators,” McLaughlin said, adding, “70% of [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] arrests are of illegal aliens who have been convicted or charged with a crime. These arrests and deportations of criminal illegal aliens are having real impact on public safety.” 

During the first six months of 2025, homicides fell 17% across 30 U.S. cities when compared with the first half 2024, according to the Council on Criminal Justice, an independent research organization, which has just published its midyear report on crime trends in U.S. cities.  

In the first six months of 2025, there were “10% fewer reported aggravated assaults, 21% fewer gun assaults, 10% fewer sexual assaults, and 3% more domestic violence incidents” when compared to the time last year, according to the report.  

Robberies are also down 20% and carjacking fell by 24%. Vehicle theft was rising from the summer of 2020 through 2023, according to the Council on Criminal Justice, but the trend began reversing in 2024.

Since Trump returned to office on Jan. 20, the Trump administration has arrested nearly 300,000 illegal aliens and deported more than 239,000, according to DHS.  

A recent Harvard-Harris Poll finds that 75% of U.S. voters support efforts to remove criminal illegal aliens from the U.S. Despite widespread support for the detainment of criminals in the U.S. illegally, DHS reports an 830% increase in violence against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in the past six months.   

Anti-ICE demonstrations have grown violent in recent weeks in cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, New York City, and Austin, Texas.   

Border czar Tom Homan pledged last week to “flood the zone” of sanctuary cities across the U.S. in order to continue arresting and deporting illegal aliens, especially criminal illegal aliens, residing in cities where officials refuse to corporate with ICE.  

“Sanctuary cities are now our priority,” Homan said during a press conference in New York City on July 21, adding that “sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals. President Trump is not going to tolerate it, and I’ll work every day with Secretary Noem to make sure we get as many bad guys, illegal aliens, out of this country that we can.”

Twenty States and DC Admit They’re Coddling Illegal Aliens

While left-wing AGs whine about the “devastating impact” of program cuts, the fact they are taking the Trump admin to court reveals who the programs were actually for.

While Congress is dealing with bad border bargains as I depicted last week, the Trump administration is trying a more direct approach to making illegal immigration less appealing to those who would sneak into the country or overstay a visa. By expanding the number of programs that qualify as federal public benefits, the administration is limiting access to government largesse to citizens only. Among other things, there will be no more Head Start, educational subsidies for postsecondary programs, or access to workforce development grants for illegal immigrants, according to this edict.

But if President Trump tries to do anything with an executive order, it’s a sure bet he’ll be dragged into court by some liberal actor. In this case, the leftist actor is New York AG Letitia James, who, being a familiar foe to Trump, is spearheading a lawsuit brought by 20 state attorneys general (as well as their DC equivalent) to prevent the order from proceeding and keep the federal money spigot flowing. “The federal government is pulling that foundation out from under us overnight,” James whined, “jeopardizing cancer screenings, early childhood education, primary care, and so much more.”

Although the old Gray Lady referred to these as “safety net programs,” a Trump spokesperson reminded us for whom the safety net is really intended. “When illegal aliens exploit these resources, it is at the expense of Americans in desperate need of them,” explained White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson in a statement. “President Trump was elected based on his promise to put Americans first, and that’s exactly what this administration is committed to doing.”

But if you ask political analyst Daniel Greenfield, the lawsuit is a tacit admission that these blue states have been pouring federal funds into the coddling of illegal immigrants and don’t want that gravy train to come to a screeching halt.

“If community health care centers would be forced to close unless they’re reimbursed for providing services to illegal aliens, how many of their patients actually are illegals?” asks Greenfield as just one example. “The conclusion would seem to be that either a majority or a significant percentage are illegal aliens.”

“Over and over again, attorney generals in liberal states list how much money their states receive to provide educational and health care services, and complain that they will no longer be able to function if they are forced to cut off services to illegal aliens,” Greenfield continues. “That suggests these health care and educational programs are really primarily servicing illegal aliens.”

One of those magnets for illegal aliens, New York City, has made recent news after the shooting of a Border Patrol officer last week, as our Nate Jackson detailed. As a result, an angry border czar Tom Homan warned these AGs and any other illegal alien defenders that sanctuary cities are now his priority and he will have a “flood” of ICE agents looking for them.

It is essential to note the political calculus involved. With blue states coddling illegal aliens and attracting them to live within their borders, each illegal counts the same as a citizen when it comes to population and congressional apportionment. For example, it’s estimated that the state of New York has 670,000 illegal immigrants out of a total noncitizen population of 1.8 million. Given that a congressional seat represents roughly three-quarters of a million people, the illegal immigrant population props up the Empire State’s delegation by almost a full seat just by itself, and the total noncitizen population buttresses it by 2.5 seats.

While the group of 20 plaintiff states speaks with lofty prose about how the Trump administration has failed to account for the “devastating impact” these new cuts would put on their states, it’s the ill-gotten power and government funding that these AGs are really trying to protect.

Winning the Mind Wars

Fighter-writer Brandon Smith published a great piece last week entitled “Lefties, Illegals and Minorities Are Finally Experiencing ‘Consequence Culture.’”  In that essay, Smith reminds readers of the psychological war that raged four years ago.  

We weren’t allowed to question the 2020 election’s mail-in ballot fraud or the statistically improbable results that dragged Biden’s dementia-addled brain back into the White House.  Public health authorities were conspiring with social media platforms to censor anyone who doubted the efficacy of the pharmaceutical industry’s magical elixirs conveniently redefined as “vaccines.”  The “woke” movement was aggressively shoveling its special brand of “trans” and child-grooming excrement down the throat of anyone who objected to the left’s open embrace of pedophilia.  The “Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity” hucksters were busy institutionalizing discrimination against white, Christian, heterosexual males.  Through its mindless avatar “Joe Biden,” the Democrat party dismantled what was left of America’s border enforcement and encouraged unvetted foreigners, national security threats, and members of transnational gangs to settle across the United States and take full advantage of the country’s already-bankrupt welfare programs.  

Democrat party goon squads running the Department of (in)Justice and Fascist Bureau of Intimidation targeted patriotic veterans opposed to election fraud; concerned parents unhappy with the sexualization of their children’s public school education; Christian parishioners who resisted “woke” rewrites of the Bible; police departments that pushed back against the federal government’s mass relocation of illegal aliens into their communities; anyone who objected to forced pharmaceutical injections; and everybody who expressed the opinion that college admissions boards and job recruiters should prioritize merit, skill, intelligence, work ethic, and American citizenship over skin color, “woke” zealotry, identity delusions, private sexual fetishes, or “undocumented” status.  

Reichsführer Merrick Garland and Obergruppenführer Chris Wray were too busy harassing and prosecuting conservatives for wrongthink to worry about all the rapists, murderers, and terrorists that Department of Homeland (in)Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was flying into unsuspecting towns throughout the country.  The Biden administration’s plan was simple: Terrorize patriotic, law-abiding Americans while filling up “swing states” with enough foreigners from communist or Islamic parts of the world to “fundamentally transform” the United States. 

Because Democrats actively oppose election security measures and enable vote fraud wherever possible, there is ample evidence that illegal aliens already affect the outcomes of local and federal elections.  (At the very least, they unfairly provide so-called “sanctuary” states extra representation in Congress and the Electoral College.)  Because the courts have embraced a suicidal interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment that grants instant citizenship to the children of illegal aliens who manage to sneak into the country before giving birth, foreign nationals influence future elections by breaking our laws today.

Smith surveys this “multi-pronged psychological offensive” occurring in tandem with the Deep State’s removal of President Trump and installation of Clueless Joe and concludes, “I don’t think there has ever been a psychological war on a population that was more pervasive and tyrannical.  Not since Mao’s Cultural Revolution in China has a citizenry been under such a siege by their own government.”  

I completely agree.  In their efforts to displace the growing political movement rallying behind Donald Trump — comprising various brigades of conservatives, libertarians, Christians, defenders of freedom, constitutionalists, MAGA Americans, and anyone averse to a New World Order dominated by an international corporate oligarchy steeped in cultural Marxism and intent on ruling the planet through central bank money manipulation and recurring cycles of baseless fear-mongering meant to exacerbate Westerners’ sense of obligation to fight shapeless specters, including the hobgoblin apparitions of systemic racism, “climate change,” and authoritarian threats to “democracy” — the Deep State globalists running D.C.’s Intelligence Community directed the federal government’s information warfare arsenal against citizens of the United States.  

We have been on the receiving end of the U.S. government’s formidable propaganda operations since the earliest days of the Union.  We have been manipulated in real time since the wide-scale adoption of radio and television.  We have witnessed how dangerous D.C.’s collusion with Silicon Valley is when those who control the flow of information are willing to censor public debate, dissent, and contemporaneous reporting at the government’s behest.  What started with the Obama administration’s takeover of social media to advance its own ideology at the expense of all others percolated behind the scenes of Trump’s first term — propagating regular waves of fake news to damage his presidency — and returned with a vengeance upon Puppet-President Biden’s recycling.  

When Obama’s people moved back into the White House in 2021 while barely disguising the strings attached to their “Joe Biden” marionette, the Democrat-led Deep State unleashed what Smith describes as an open “war on the minds of the masses designed to force Americans into submission.”

Yet here we are...still standing.  I know that we have been fighting this psychological war for so long that many of us refuse to take even a moment to celebrate, but we should!  As Smith writes, “The fact that we survived this event, defeated the onslaught and actually grew a grassroots anti-woke movement without the use of social media forums is truly mind-blowing.”  In the Deep State’s “mind war” against MAGA Americans, freethinking patriots “won by simple truth and word of mouth.”  

I can already hear some of you doing your best Han Solo impersonation: “Great, kid.  Don’t get cocky.”  You’re absolutely right.  We must never rest on our laurels.  As artificial intelligence gives the Intelligence Community even more tools to engage in information warfare against the American people, the fight for personal freedom and against totalitarianism will become only more important.  

Four years after the attack on Pearl Harbor, we had “Victory in Europe” and “Victory over Japan.”  Our present war against the corporate-government nexus that uses mass communication and technocratic control over information to “manufacture” public opinion is a war without end.  

Still, Smith is correct.  We have proved during these last fifteen years (at least since the rise of the Tea Party Movement in the United States) that “simple truth” and “word of mouth” are effective countermeasures against the globalist Deep State’s information wars.

In a world where government agents organize mass psychological operations that push subtle messages meant to coerce populations into doing whatever those with power wish them to do, those who are capable of seeing the invisible cages being built around us are invaluable truth-tellers.  Authenticity is exceptionally important now.  Freethinking is perhaps more important today than at any time in history.  And those who are willing to think critically and spread the truth honestly have become an indispensable part of society.

The Globalist Machine recognizes that the public revolution is real.  Disregarding their primary role in producing propaganda on a worldwide scale, international institutions such as the World Economic Forum and United Nations regularly list so-called “misinformation” and “disinformation” among the most critical risks to the planet.  They certainly are not worried about all the lies they spew every day.  They are worried that the 99.99% of the global population without economic or political power might reject those lies and think for themselves.  To the powers that be, freethinkers are far more dangerous than nuclear wars or asteroid impacts.

It is why globalists are apoplectic about the Trump administration’s rejection of the World Health Organization’s intrusion on national sovereignty.  It is why Democrats are furious that Congress has defunded leftist propaganda networks such as PBS and NPR.  It is why Google continues to silence conservative voices.  It is why the U.K. government embraces censorship and criminalizes free speech.   

Globalist governments cannot maintain power in a world with honest public debate and protections for free speech.  Their authority rests on spinning — if not hiding — the truth.  What we know, however, is much more powerful: The truth will set you free.
