Biden, the border, and Texas: federal troops next?

In 1957, defiant Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus ignored Supreme Court orders to integrate Little Rock’s Central High School.  To enforce the Court’s historic decision, President Dwight Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard and sent in the 101st Airborne.  In 1963, President John F. Kennedy federalized and took control of the Alabama National Guard after Governor George Wallace used guardsmen to block court-ordered integration of the University of Alabama.

The root of today’s contest between Texas and the Oval Office differs from the Arkansas and Alabama episodes.  In 1957 and 1963, governors defied federal authorities attempting to uphold the law.  Today, the roles are reversed: a governor, Texas’s Greg Abbott, finds himself forced to perform what is largely a federal responsibility—border security—because Washington, D.C. categorically refuses to perform its constitutional duty.  Ground Zero for Abbott’s effort is Eagle Pass, Texas, where the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety have barred illegal entry by border violators over federal objections.

Count on this: the White House would justify the use of force against Texas by hijacking the moral authority of Eisenhower, Kennedy, and the Warren Supreme Court, who enforced the constitutional rights of black Americans to attend public schools and universities.  The White House and its congressional allies already disparage as racist Abbott’s effort to defend Texas from the illegal invasion.  The Roberts Supreme Court supplied a pretext for military action against Texas with an order undermining Abbott’s decision to deploy razor wire against illegal entry over a small fraction of Texas’s 1,200 mile border with Mexico in Eagle Pass.

There may be more to come from the Supreme Court as Biden’s anti-Texas lawsuits wind through the federal courts.  Up next is Biden’s attempt to upend a new Texas law authorizing Texas courts and prosecutors to punish and expel border violators.  But the demonstrated lawlessness of the White House and its Attorney General should leave little doubt that top Biden advisers are now mulling non-judicial strategies:  the federalization of the Texas National Guard, and troop deployments to dislodge Texas authorities from Eagle Pass.

When would the Biden administration act to neutralize Abbott?  Timing is everything.  In 2014, to avoid blowback against the Sochi Winter Olympics, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin delayed his Ukraine invasion until after the games.  Likewise, Biden probably would not escalate against Texas before resolution of the current federal budget impasse.  Biden’s military action to stamp out Texan self-defense against his catastrophic executive decision to open the border would spell the end of Capitol Hill negotiations on border security, and assistance to Ukraine and Israel, among other programs.

Why, now, would the administration follow through at all with a reckless anti-Texas strategy?  As Biden’s re-election prospects wane, it is reasonable to expect him and his inner circle to concoct a dramatic event to mobilize voters and recover lost ground.  A clueless White House may see Texas’s wildly underestimated Governor Abbott as the perfect foil to accomplish this.  Perhaps Biden advisers will conclude that an Executive Order federalizing the Texas National Guard, coupled with planeloads of active-duty paratroopers pouring into Eagle Pass, would provide a dramatic Hail Mary pass to salvage a second Biden term.

If we have learned anything during the last three years, it is that Biden’s inner circle is indifferent to harm to Americans posed by Biden policies on the border, defense, diplomacy, energy production, and the economy.  Risks posed by Biden military action against Texas include American casualties and backlash from unified governors and citizens against a White House blatantly ignoring its constitutional duties—but the Biden camp does not care.

Texas National Guard and law enforcement personnel have been attempting to hold the line on Biden’s open border with Mexico since the president’s first year in office.  What can be done until January 2025, when a new president restores constitutional governance?

In 1776, our Declaration of Independence explained American grievances against King George III to “a candid World” by writing of the British tyrant’s endeavors “to bring on the Inhabitants of our Frontiers … an undistinguished Destruction, of all Ages, Sexes, and Conditions.”  The direct political descendants of the 1776 signers—Congress and state governors—must bluntly warn the White House now against coercive federal measures to prevent Texas from protecting its citizens—and the nation—against the human waves crossing “our Frontiers” illegally.  

Better to dissent from such a strategy now and not later, when the 101st Airborne’s Screaming Eagles arrive in Eagle Pass.

 

No Nation can survive without borders and a patriotic citizenship. We have lost both in a short time. Can - Will - we come to our senses and end this national tragedy?

 

The Death of Citizenship

From 1860 to 2000, in the largest legal migration in human history, over 61 million immigrants arrived in the United States. They were not only escaping poverty and oppression, but they were eager to assimilate and attain the most sought-after national status in the world -- American citizenship.

Today in the 21^st century, American citizenship and its one-of-a-kind written contract with the government, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, is teetering on the edge of meaninglessness brought about by the relentless onslaught of the nation’s ruling class and their American Marxist allies.

The first seven words of the U.S. Constitution are: “We the people of the United States.” It is a document by American citizens for American citizens. Yet it has been hijacked by those who are determined to transform the nation into one mirroring and subservient to a socialist global government.

One of the basic birthrights of American citizenship, faith in fair and free elections, has been seriously imperiled. The nation’s borders are being deliberately dismantled. The enumerated rights of Americans are being relentlessly eroded. And one of the primary foundational underpinnings of America, assimilation and belief in the uniqueness of the nation, is being rapidly and ruthlessly undermined.

As non-citizens are increasingly being granted the right to vote and after the blatant unconstitutional voting law changes and ballot manipulations which eventuated in the Democrat Party winning the 2020 presidential election, no longer can the citizenry rely on open and honest elections to choose their representatives.

Millions of mail-in ballots with no security controls were indiscriminately distributed and unaccounted for throughout the length and breadth of the country, millions of ballots were illegally “harvested” by paid campaign workers, and hundreds of thousands of ballots were feloniously “stuffed” into innumerable drop-off boxes.

The denials of election fraud and subsequent cover-ups by the media and the ruling class ring hollow and insincere as they, in essence, have told American citizens that the fundamental right to choose their representatives is no more as they have little or no say in who is chosen to run or how their leaders are elected.

No nation can maintain its status as a nation without secure and identifiable borders. Citizenship means nothing if untold millions of illegal immigrants openly defy the laws without consequence. It is estimated that at least 22 million illegals resided in the United States as of 2018. Responding to an explicit invitation from the Biden administration, another 10+ million have walked unchallenged across the border in the past 36 months.

 These absurdly labeled “undocumented immigrants” are becoming indistinguishable from citizens as they openly reside in 500 sanctuary jurisdictions, receive welfare, education, and medical care, are granted drivers licenses, and given tuition breaks at public universities, as they, not legal immigrants or American citizens, are exempt from federal immigration, health, and travel laws.

Among the most important and unique aspects of American citizenship are the written guarantees of rights as enumerated in the first ten amendments to the Constitution. Four of these amendments (the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth) are devoted to making certain that the legal process is fair and protects the citizens from injustice. Another amendment, the Fourth, limits the ability of the government to conduct warrantless searches and seizures. Thus, five of the ten amendments in the Bill of Rights focus on the citizen’s right to fair and impartial justice.

Yet over the past two decades the ruling class, in conjunction with their fellow-travelers in the state and federal judiciary, have systematically ignored these enumerated rights of American citizenship and created a two-tier system of justice. Their political allies and followers as well as politically correct felons and criminals are treated leniently or, in many cases not prosecuted, while their political adversaries, most notably Donald Trump, and their followers as well as non-politically correct felons and criminals are single-mindedly hounded and punitively prosecuted.

The most egregious example is the disproportionally harsh treatment of the non-violent protestors on January 6, 2021 as compared to the lack of prosecution and leniency shown toward de facto allies of the Marxist-controlled Democrat Party. A leniency exemplified by the lack of prosecution of those who throughout the spring and summer of 2020 sowed death, destruction, looting, and arson throughout the nation. In today’s America not all citizens are equal under the law.

Additionally, activist federal judges habitually overturn legislation they find contrary to their left-wing political beliefs, willfully impose their cultural beliefs on American society, and inject themselves in congressional redistricting to benefit the Democrat Party. They do so in the unconcerned knowledge that they are cancelling the votes of untold millions of American citizens.

The nation’s motto “E Pluribus Unum” (“Out of many, One”) has been deliberately and maliciously replaced with the incessant drumbeat of degenerate tribalism. The current iteration of the ruling class, in their self-serving alliance with the radical left, has tacitly and relentlessly promoted the concept that individual citizens do not owe their allegiance to the United States but instead owe their allegiance to racial or ethnic groups that look like them or to those that profess certain sexual proclivities or to those that wallow in corrosive anti-Americanism.

This elitist and Marxist-inspired heterodoxy aspires to destroy statues and rename streets, buildings and military installations, as well as rewrite and recast American history, and erase the art and architecture that does not reflect either their socialist globalist views or their narcissistic racial, ethnic, sexual, or class-structured self-gratification. Being a “woke” citizen of the world is far more important than being a citizen of the United States.

The vast bulk of the American elites and their status-seeking hangers-on see nothing exceptional in America either past or present. Turning their backs on their American citizenship while denigrating it, these apostates are deliberately attempting to fuel shame among the citizenry over what they claim to be the iniquitous origins and traditions of America.

Consciously opting to be considered a vital part of the cabal that are the global elites, the American ruling class has succeeded in undermining the distinctiveness and unique privileges of American citizenship which is the glue that has held this society together for nearly two hundred and fifty years.

It is no longer the Constitution but the ruling class in alliance with the Marxist-controlled Democrat Party that defines what encompasses the rights and privileges of American citizenship. All constitutional rights, including freedom of speech and the unalienable right of self-defense, are increasingly optional and subject to the whims and fiats of the elected and unelected politically correct and self-righteous elites.

This nation is unraveling, transforming American citizens into mere residents of a vast stretch of land between the borders of Canada and Mexico.

The most meaningful day in my life occurred in 1956 when I became a citizen of the United States. Little did I know that in my lifetime I would see the descent of American citizenship into near meaninglessness. A collapse that came about internally and was not directly precipitated by the nation’s foreign adversaries.

Unfortunately, the vast bulk of Americans are oblivious to the erosion of American citizenship. This nation is rapidly approaching the point where the distinctiveness of being an American will be permanently diminished as being a “citizen” of a socialist-inspired world government will take precedence.

Joe Biden's legal win against Texas has one problem: The Border Patrol doesn't seem to want to cooperate

Joe Biden has been in a courthouse free-for-all against the State of Texas, which seeks to protect its border from foreign invaders against Biden's wishes, creating a legal battlefield to shut the state's effort down. Thus far, the Supreme Court -- John Roberts and the gals on the bench -- has ruled for Joe.

According to Newsweek:

The Biden administration secured a significant win over Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Monday after the Supreme Court voted to allow the removal of razor wire along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Court voted 5-4 in approval of the White House's request to vacate an injunction from the Fifth Circuit in October, which blocked President Joe Biden's administration from instructing federal agents to cut down wire installed in Texas to deter illegal migration.

So with that supposed high court victory in hand, I've been waiting for Biden to send in the Border Patrol to start cutting down all the razor wire the Texas National Guard has put up at Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's orders and ... nothing seems to be happening.

U.S. Border Patrol say there are 'no plans' to dismantle the razor wire installed by the state of Texas along the southern border despite an ongoing legal battle between the Lone Star State and the Biden administration.

Texas is currently entangled in a multifaceted legal clash with the federal government concerning the security of the Texas-Mexico border. 

The legal challenges include the federal government's objection to Texas' recent seizure of Shelby Park near Eagle Pass, ongoing lawsuits regarding the removal of razor wire erected by Texas, and the placement of buoys in the Rio Grande that deliberately block migrants swimming across. 

Texas contends that it is acting in 'self-defense' against what it characterizes as a migrant 'invasion.'

Really? I thought Joe Biden wanted to assert his federal authority by stepping in to show Texas who was boss by cutting the razor wire, and then either federalizing the Texas National Guard or else start arresting them. We could go full third-world on this, with one domestic army fighting another. And photos of the Border Patrol cutting the razor wire to let another million or so illegals in would make such great campaign photos (for President Trump). What was holding Joe back?

According to the Daily Wire, it might just be the Border Patrol itself, which has declared its support for Texas, joining 25 states which have also declared support for Texas's assertion of its right to protect its border from foreigners breaking in.

The official union of U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a statement on Thursday backing the Texas National Guard’s attempts to secure the southern border and slamming the Biden administration for its “catastrophic” border policies.

The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), which has more than 18,000 members, said that the “rank-and-file” Border Patrol agents “appreciate and respect” the measures Texas has taken to repel the record flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S. under Biden.

“TX NG and rank-and-file BP agents work together and respect each other’s jobs. Period,” the NBPC said. “If TX NG members have LAWFUL orders, then they have to carry out those orders.”

Earlier this week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott doubled down on using razor wire to repel migrants from illegally crossing the border after the Supreme Court ruled that Border Patrol agents have the authority to cut through the wire to allow illegal immigrants into the country. On Friday, The Daily Wire found that Texas authorities have not only maintained existing razor wire fortifications but have added razor wire to border barriers, all while continuing to bar Border Patrol from establishing a presence at Shelby Park in Eagle Pass.

 So Texas is moving forward, carrying on what it has been carrying on before Joe took them to court, and amassing allies, such as the 25 states who have pledged support for Texas's efforts.

Biden meanwhile, is acting as he has his hands tied, not wanting to make a move so long as the Fox News cameras are there to record it, and the migrants are ready to surge on in.

He wants power, but he has no power over Texas because his own Border Patrol is openly denouncing him and Texas is going about its business, Court or no Court.

Where he does have power, such as in shutting the border entirely, a full presidential power he can enact at his discretion, he certainly isn't going to use, being in favor of open borders and the special interests that benefit from open borders.

That makes him look weak. Let's see him get in there and send troops to take down the razor wires before the cameras.

We know he won't do it, because his poll numbers are tanking on migrant issues and sure enough, it's the top issue for voters, according to polls.

So there he stands, with his hands tied, frozen, unable to move, wanting to move but not moving. It's like he didn't plan on actually winning in Court, or expected Texas to run away.

No wonder our enemies watch this fool in action and make their decisions accordingly. They'll be sending more "asylum seekers" over -- to one of the non-Texas borders soon.
