Thank heaven at least half of the United States of America is willing to support Texas. South Dakota Governor Noem is one of them.

Noem willing to send South Dakota National Guard to Texas over ‘war zone’ at border

Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) announced her willingness to send the South Dakota National Guard to the Texas border to support Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) in his dispute with the Biden administration over the border.

In an appearance on Fox News on Thursday alongside Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Noem backed Abbott in his efforts on immigration, adding that she would be traveling to the border on Friday.

“This is about our Constitution; this is about us standing united,” Noem said. “The 13 original colonies would have never signed the Constitution or ratified it if they didn’t know they didn’t have the protections to defend themselves. That is what this is all about.”

“I am going to be at the border tomorrow to tell the Texas National Guard to tell Border Patrol agents within the state of Texas that we are not only with them, we have continued to be with them over the last several years. South Dakota has deployed our National Guard to support them and stand alongside them three separate times over the last several years, and we’re going to continue doing that. A lot of people talk, and a lot of people criticize. We take action,” she added.

“Right now, I am so proud of what Texas is doing to defend themselves. We’ll do everything we can to make sure this invasion stops,” Noem said before host Sean Hannity asked if she would send her state’s National Guard to the border to assist.

“I already have three times; even my Lakota helicopters have been down there conducting surveillance. I am willing to send the National Guard down there to stand alongside,” Noem said. She added that she finds it “interesting” that “nobody in the country” supports President Joe Biden’s policies, describing the situation at the border as a “war zone.”

Noem was one of 24 governors who showed their support for Abbott in a joint statement on Thursday. The standoff between Abbott and the federal government was triggered when the Texas governor refused to abide by a Supreme Court ruling that gave control over a critical part of the border to the Biden administration. Abbott has argued that he is invoking the state’s constitutional right of self-defense, being left with no other course of action after being abandoned by the Biden administration.
