Hundreds Rally In Texas After ‘Take Our Borders Back’ Convoy Reaches Border

QUEMADO, TX — Hundreds of concerned Americans from around the country met on the Texas border as part of the “Take Our Border Back” convoy to rally in support of securing the United States’ southern border.

The rally goers met at a private ranch in Quemado, Texas, a small town just north of Eagle Pass, a major hotspot for illegal border crossings that the Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety took over from federal Border Patrol authorities. The Take Our Border Back convoy arrived at the ranch on Friday night, with a long line of semi-trucks and passenger cars filing into the property for over an hour.

The rally kicked off with performances of Christian music as the convoy settled onto the ranch, with many spending the night on the 10-acre property, located just hundreds of yards away from the Rio Grande River. An estimated 300 vehicles were present at the event, the Kinney County Sheriff’s Office stated.

Anson Bills, who manages the ranch, told The Daily Wire that Americans concerned about the border crisis were invited to the ranch for a peaceful weekend of prayer in support of a secure border and the members of law enforcement working to fix the crisis. The attendees were welcomed by people waving flags and selling merchandise out front on the street.

The rally in Quemado was one of three destinations for the border convoy, which split into different groups and arrived in San Ysidro, California and Yuma, Arizona.

Republican Congressman Keith Self from Texas’ 3rd congressional district attended the event after appearing in Eagle Pass to reaffirm his support of Governor Greg Abbott and other Governor’s across the country who’ve taken action to secure the southern border.

The rally came as the Biden administration and Texas Governor Greg Abbott became embroiled in a feud over Shelby Park in Eagle Pass. Texas authorities defied a demand from the Biden administration to allow Border Patrol to retake control of the park, instead continuing to build razor wire barriers to deter illegal border crossings.

Texas’ decision to secure its border comes as the United States faces an unprecedented surge of illegal aliens with over 10 million crossing the border since Joe Biden took office. Cities across the country, ranging from New York to Chicago, have struggled to manage the rapid surge of migrants, with both taking drastic measures to feed and house those who’ve crossed into the United States.
