Something is Rotten in Washington

6/27/2014 - Diana West Townhall.com

About those 300 U.S. military advisers that the Obama administration has ordered to Iraq.
They belong on the United States border with Mexico. They are urgently needed to assess what U.S. military force should be deployed immediately to secure our own border, not Iraq's border, from what is surely the most unconventional and, I believe, the most dangerous war in our history. As tens of thousands of so-called unaccompanied alien children (UAC) crash our southern border, we are undergoing a war against the existence, the concept of the USA as a nation-state.

After all, a nation-state doesn't exist unless it controls its borders and protects its citizens. We, the People, do neither. But the existential danger here comes not from the assault itself. Nightmarishly, it comes from the Obama administration, which, in its greatest betrayal, is leading, or at least supporting, the aliens' charge.
That's why the cavalry isn't coming.

A normal government -- one with the best interests of its own citizens at heart -- would have taken immediate steps to 1) halt these border crossings that pose a dire threat to public health and safety, and 2) set in motion the deportation efforts necessary to return these illegal aliens to their home countries.

But the Obama administration is not a normal government. It saw these veritable columns of minor aliens forming, and, rather than stop them from entering the country, actually sought to help them, borrowing a phrase from Rep. Lou Barletta, R-Pa., wipe their feet on our "welfare welcome mat" and stay.

How do I know this? Every American should examine the Department of Homeland Security solicitation notice that appeared six months ago at the federal business opportunities site FedBizOpps.gov. The notice seeks "Escort Services for Unaccompanied Alien Children," describing exactly the services now required to process, not deport, this massive influx.

According to this notice posted back on Jan. 29, 2014, DHS was already gearing up to receive "approximately 65,000 UAC in total."

How did DHS know this? Something is rotten in Washington, and it starts with the federal government's twisted priorities. DHS, the notice states, has "a continuing and mission critical responsibility for accepting custody of unaccompanied alien children from U.S. Border Patrol and other Federal agencies and transporting these juveniles to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) shelters located throughout the continental United States."

"Resettlement," in other words, means these illegals are staying -- at least if the Obama administration has its way. This may fulfill a "mission critical responsibility" for the Central American countries whose nationals, including gangbangers and drug runners, are crashing our border. There is nothing, however, in the American interest about it. Come to think of it, there's nothing in the American interest in the entire refugee resettlement mission -- literally. According to the UAC services webpage of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, the mission is to assist these minor illegal aliens "in becoming integrated members of our global society."
Not our "American" society. Big difference.

This explains why the bureaucracy acts to smash the culture of cowtowns and rural communities by dropping blocs of unassimilable primitive or hostile aliens in their midst, all in the name of "compassion" -- just not for Americans.

Take Lawrenceville, a tiny town in southern Virginia. One day this month, Lawrenceville woke up to discover that Washington was unilaterally about to turn this town of 1,400 citizens into the host of 500 illegal minors (these minors are mainly teenaged and male). Such a massive population transfer of Spanish-speaking, probably mainly young male aliens into the historic town, of course, would have changed it forever -- or for as long as the bloc remained, which could be forever.

In Lawrenceville, a grassroots uproar brought a halt to Washington's designs. In Escondido, California, another show of people-power thwarted a similar Washington housing plan for alien minors. A burgeoning anti-Washington movement is clearly crossing party lines. In Baltimore, for example, Democrats recently nixed the feds' alien minor housing plan. In Springfield, Massachusetts, Democratic Mayor Dominic Barno formally asked the State Department to send no more refugees. His city, he says, is overwhelmed.
I can hear the resettlement crowd asking: "Where is the compassion?" "Where is the charity?" But what they're really looking for is taxpayer money.

As Ann Corcoran, purveyor of the must-read website, Refugee Resettlement Watch, has taught me, population replacement is big business, and the zealous bureaucrats who seek to "fundamentally transform" this country make a good, taxpayer-funded living while they're at it.

So, while your border is in tatters and perhaps your town under siege, know that you are paying for it. You're paying for that new illegal minor alien facility now opening in Tucson -- the 17th such facility operated by a group called Southwest Key, with an annual budget of more than $150 million, according to NBC affiliate KVOA, "most of which comes from federal government contracts." (Bonus: the chairman of Southwest Key's board of directors, Victor Garza, is an official of La Raza, which hopes to reclaim the Southwest for Mexico.)

You're paying for the "migration and refugee services" of the very preachy U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Citing the USCCB 2012 annual report, Corcoran notes that out of an operating budget of roughly $71 million, about $69.6 million is taxpayer money. As Corcoran writes, "It is not Christian charity when the 'church' is paid by the taxpayers to do charitable work."

No, it's a big Washington con. Don't fall for it. Hold the line. United, maybe we don't need the cavalry.

Near Half of CBP Are Babysitters

by Phyllis Schlafly Eagle Forum June 25, 2014
Officials of the Obama Administration trekked out to a tiny rural community in southern Virginia to teach the local yokels a thing about immigration policy. Yet the lessons learned were not by the local farmers, but by the bureaucrats who got more than an earful in protests against placing illegal aliens in their small town of Lawrenceville.
“We will not be strong-armed by federal officials,” bellowed one resident at the town hall, a 32-year-old former Marine named Aaron Smith. “We will not be pushed around,” he exclaimed against the federal officials, as the crowd of townspeople gave him rousing applause.
Lawrenceville has only about 1,400 residents, and the town hall was held on June 19th in a spacious auditorium that seats 900. But even that large facility was not big enough to hold the outrage, as more than 1,000 angry people – nearly everyone in the town – showed up to express opposition to the Obama Administration plan to relocate illegal immigrant children there.
The Obama Administration thought it could quietly house 500 children, who had illegally crossed our Mexican border, in a vacant college that had recently closed in this small town, but the politicians badly misread the depth of public opposition. Numerous federal officials were then sent by the Obama Administration to appease the locals, but in the face of the uproar the officials felt compelled to apologize, one after another, for what they had done.
The apologies rang hollow. In typical government-speak, one official attributed the problem to “communication challenges,” and acted like the miscommunication could be overcome with a bunch of talk. But there was no “communication challenge” in the numerous signs brought by town residents which shouted “no illegal immigrants.”
Residents expressed concern about public safety and a possible increase in crime if so many kids were bought into the community without parental supervision. “The No. 1 concern we have is the potential for shenanigans and the potential for crime,” observed townsman Derek Lewis at a local pizza parlor.
Brunswick County Sheriff Brian Roberts was also candid, describing “fear” among locals about the way the government was handling this, adding that “500 kids unaccounted for – illegal alien children in my little sleepy town – I just don’t think it’s the right fit for this community.”
Another harebrained response by the Obama Administration to the massive influx of illegal immigrant kids, roughly 100,000 in this year alone, is to promise to send more money to the Central American nations that are dumping their kids on us. Obama wants to send $161.5 million to the so-called Central American Regional Security Initiative, and nearly $100 million to El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, payments that will be additional incentives for them to permit more kids to show up at our southern border.
Instead of the United States rewarding nations for demanding that we provide free daycare and medical care for their kids, shouldn’t we instead be sending those countries a big bill for the cost of return bus tickets to transport the kids back?
Only one person amid the numerous presidential hopefuls seems to be getting the message. That candidate is, lo and behold, Hillary Clinton, who is seizing the day and outflanking Republicans on this issue, by being the first to call for a return of the tens of thousands of children back to their homes in Central America. The only other prominent leader to call for sending them back to where they came from is, surprise, surprise, John McCain.
The anemic reaction by Republican Party leadership is almost as pathetic as the swarming of children across our southern border. Euphemistically called unaccompanied children (UACs) rather than illegal aliens, they are overwhelming Homeland Security and turning border patrol agents into nannies with diaper-changing responsibilities.
Back in Lawrenceville, Virginia, the Obama Administration officials promised that the 500 young illegal aliens would not be dumped on the small community without their approval. Really? Thousands of other young illegal aliens have already been relocated to Arizona and Oklahoma despite criticisms by their governors.
Nobody seems to know who or where the parents of these children are, but we do know what the cause of the surge in illegal border crossings is. Promises of so-called “immigration reform,” with its allure of amnesty, inevitably bring more illegal aliens wanting more of the same.

The tens of thousands of kids surging across our southern border are not unaccompanied; they may be carrying staph infections, chickenpox, and scabies, which is a highly contagious skin disease that causes massive itching due to burrowing mites, plus diseases that the U.S. eradicated in our country years ago, such as tuberculosis, Chagas disease, dengue fever, hepatitis, malaria, and measles.

Lawlessness Begets More Lawlessness

April 14th, 2014 by Daniel Horowitz

If you think the debate over illegal immigration revolves strictly around the disagreement over what to do with those already here illegally, you haven’t been paying attention.  For anyone who really wants to end illegal immigration and preserve our sovereignty, the solution is not an enigma.  All we have to do is actually implement the border and interior enforcement mechanisms that both Republicans and Democrats claim to support.  All new illegal aliens would be barred from getting jobs immediately.  Finally, we would eliminate all welfare and birthright citizenship for future waves of illegal immigration so that they can’t drop anchor babies and get on the welfare doles.

At that point, the question of what to do with those already here will be minimized and any legal status granted will be done from a position of strength – knowing that we will not encourage a new surge of illegal migration.

Yet, indeed, that is not what the majority in the leadership of both political parties desire.  They support permanent de facto open borders.  And their selfish and insidious desires are actually engendering a massive surge in illegal immigration as we speak.  The irresponsible policy of passionately advocating for amnesty before illegal immigration is halted has always resulted in perennial lawlessness and it always will.

Last week, the New York Times reported on the surge in illegal crossings in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.  This is part of the broader increase in illegal immigration during each of the past three years.  As the Times notes, much of the increase is from Central American migrants who come here to take advantage of our absurd and outdated refugee and asylum policies:

“Under asylum law, border agents are required to ask migrants if they are afraid of returning to their countries. If the answer is yes, migrants must be detained until an immigration officer interviews them to determine if the fear is credible. If the officer concludes it is, the migrant can petition for asylum. An immigration judge will decide whether there is a “well-founded fear of persecution” based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion or “membership in a particular social group.”

Immigration officials said they had set the bar intentionally low for the initial “credible fear” test, to avoid turning away a foreigner in danger. In 2013, 85 percent of fear claims were found to be credible, according to federal figures.

As more Central Americans have come, fear claims have spiked, more than doubling in 2013 to 36,026 from 13,931 in 2012.

Undoubtedly, we need immigration reform to pass Congress.  But much like healthcare reform and Obamacare, the type of reforms we need are antithetical to those proposed by the open border lobby. We are in serious need of cracking down on abuses in our refugee and asylum policies.

It is simply unconscionable that liberals would hold up border enforcement and visa tracking until they get amnesty for illegal aliens.  It is even more appalling that Republicans let them get away with it.  Just last week, a Moroccan national who was here on an expired visa was arrested for plotting to blow up a federal building.

“El Mehdi Semlali Fahti, 26, entered the United States legally on a student visa six years ago. Fahti had been planning to use a remote-controlled airplane to deliver the bomb and stated, according to an affidavit, that “the bomb that he planned to use would be made for him and he claimed that everything is available in Southern California on the border.”

But he could not be deported and was released, according to Special Agent Anabela Sharp in anaffidavit, because Fahti was granted a “withholding of removal of relief” order “on or about August 16, 2013 based on his claim of fear of persecution based on asylum.”

That order precluded the United States from deporting him back to Morroco, and Special Agent Sharp testified that there is probable cause to believe that his application for deportation relief was based on fraud. For instance, even though Fahti claimed in his application that he would be persecuted based on political opinion if deported back to Morocco, he was never arrested in his home country for his political beliefs, which is something his father also confirmed.”

It is a tragedy that Republicans have taken one of the most important issues off the table, opting to join the Democrats instead of going on offense by demanding real immigration reform.

To digress for a moment, let’s juxtapose what’s going on with our borders to the way the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is treating the Bundy Ranch in Nevada.  They are rounding up his cows for grazing on federal lands he owned before the Department of the Interior decided to buy up almost the entire state of Nevada.  They are coming out with full paramilitary force to get rid of the cows “trespassing” on federal land.  Yet, these same people have no problem with illegal aliens trampling through our national parks, which has gotten so bad that some parks were forced to close.  In fact, they tie the hands of the border agents protecting the safety and sovereignty of all Americans while the BLM police are waging a full-scale war on harmless cows for violating the Endanger Species Act.

It’s time for Republicans to start acting like an alternative party and fight for America’s sovereignty instead of joining with Democrats to subvert it.

A Humanitarian Crisis of Greatest Magnitude

Phyllis Schlafly  Eagle Forum June 20, 2014
Elections have consequences, and the stunning defeat of the heir apparent for leadership of the Republican Party, Eric Cantor, continues to reverberate throughout the political world. Completely caught off guard by this spectacular upset, the liberal media are scrambling to try to spin the story as something other than what it obviously was.
The message of the voters to Eric Cantor and the entire nation was this: “no amnesty.” This was a slap in the face of the Chamber of Commerce that has been demanding so-called “immigration reform” as a way for big business to get cheap labor from illegal aliens, while able-bodied Americans are left on unemployment and while the rest of us have to deal with the crime and other costs caused by rampant illegal immigration.
Eric Cantor did not merely lose a tight election, but lost by a landslide of 11 percentage points to a virtually unknown challenger in a race no one thought the majority leader could lose. Cantor became the first majority leader to lose in his own primary in U.S. history.
The media did not think the race was even worth covering, and they did not bother sending anyone to do exit polls of voters. But they need look no further than what Dave Brat says on his website, what he said while campaigning and what he has said in the few interviews he gave after his extraordinary victory.
“Dave believes that we need to secure the border before addressing immigration reform. Dave is opposed to amnesty,” his website boldly declares, while sharply contrasting his position with that of Eric Cantor, who favored amnesty for most illegal aliens up to age 30.
The support of amnesty for kids by Cantor, which Dave Brat sharply criticized shortly before the election, has apparently been heard loud and clear south of the border. Tens of thousands of children from Central America have recently swarmed over our border, giving Homeland Security a colossal problem.
In the past, the number of children crossing our southern border have totaled about 7,000 to 8,000 annually. But that quantity increased to 13,000 in 2012, then to more than 24,000 in 2013, and government estimates for this year of the number of illegal crossings by children was 60,000 before the recent surges indicate it could be even more, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
More, indeed, as the number of illegal crossings by Central American children into our country reached 47,000 by last month, making it likely it will exceed 100,000 in this year alone.
This pathetic tragedy has resulted in placing many children in harm’s way. Even the Obama administration is obviously unable to fully protect all these children and lacks proper facilities for housing them.
With all the investigative reporters standing by to try to find some dirt on Republicans like Dave Brat, hovering outside his family home all day to pounce on him whenever he emerges, why hasn’t anyone determined how so many children have made it to our border? They obviously didn’t walk across Mexico alone.
No one seems to know how they got here, or those who do know are not telling us. But it is clear why tens of thousands of children have suddenly shown up at our doorstep: Their families want the amnesty and citizenship Eric Cantor and big business donors were quietly promising them.
One thousand of these poor children are being housed in a facility in Nogales, Texas, but there are far too many additional children who are crossing the border into Texas even for that large state to accommodate. The Obama administration is transferring many of these children to Arizona, but officials there are furious at being burdened with this immense responsibility.
Why are we surprised by this avoidable tragedy? If a border fence had been built as promised, then this dangerous wandering by children across our southern border would not be occurring.
Dave Brat, fresh from the biggest political upset in a generation, explained again to the public how wrongheaded amnesty is. “If you really want to help the rest of the world, what you’ve got to do is encourage free markets, private property rights and the strong rule of law and get rid of the dictators in a lot of these countries” that are sending children to us.
Liberals do not like that approach because they expect illegal aliens to become Democratic Party voters. The Chamber of Commerce does not like Brat’s approach because big business expects illegal aliens to become cheap, controllable labor for the companies.

But American voters accept the obvious truth against amnesty Dave Brat articulates. Every Republican should heed the clear message sent by the voters in retiring the majority leader of the House.

Amnesty is REWARDING Illegal Aliens With The OBJECTIVE of Their Crime

6/13/2014 - Thomas Sowell

Not since a 42-to-1 underdog named Buster Douglas knocked out undefeated heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in 1990 has there been an upset like economics professor Dave Brat defeating House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Republican primary in Virginia.

You couldn't write a script like this for a movie and have it be believable. Congressman Eric Cantor, with all kinds of name recognition, and outspending his opponent by 5 million dollars to $100,000, lost 55 percent to 45 percent against somebody that virtually nobody ever heard of before. Polls, incidentally, had predicted that Cantor would defeat Brat 62 percent to 28 percent.

To add a touch of absolute fantasy to the story, Dave Brat's Democratic opponent this fall is another professor at the same Randolph-Macon College where Professor Brat teaches.
Who would believe that in a movie?

In the end, all of this will be just a curious footnote to what this election means to the Republican Party and -- more important -- to the country at large.

To those in the media who see everything as just a contest -- a "horse race," as they say -- between different individuals and factions, this is being reported as a victory of the Tea Party over the Republican establishment.

One of the encouraging things about Professor Brat is that he apparently does not see it that way. He says that he is for the same principles as other Republicans, but that he believes in putting those principles into practice.

Unlike those Republicans on either the establishment side or the Tea Party side who are preoccupied with their internal party battles, Dave Brat is focused on the issues confronting this country at a crucial juncture in history and with the immediate task of defeating the Democrats in this fall's election.

If this primary election defeat puts an end to cocky talk by Republican establishment leaders about crushing their Tea Party rivals, there may be some hope that they can spare some time to deal with the serious issues facing this country, rather than their own ego indulgences.

A key issue in this campaign was amnesty for illegal immigrants. Apparently the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives -- which is to say, House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor -- thinks that amnesty is not amnesty if you call it "immigration reform" and toss in some fig-leaf requirements before the amnesty kicks in.

Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed almost entirely in terms of what can be done to help those who have broken the law. Some want to help a little and some want to help a lot. But amnesty lite is still amnesty.

Some people seem to think that amnesty is not amnesty if you throw in requirements for citizenship. Amnesty is not some esoteric concept. It means that you are not going to be punished for breaking the law -- and that simply brings laws into contempt. Denying citizenship is not a punishment because crossing the border illegally does not entitle you to citizenship. Providing a legal status short of citizenship is not punishment either.

There is no requirement for either amnesty or for citizenship that President Obama cannot ignore or dilute unilaterally, as he has ignored or diluted existing immigration laws, as well as other laws. Barack Obama is the biggest reason to pass no immigration "reform" laws until after he is gone.

It doesn't matter what immigration policies you believe in if you don't control your borders -- and the vast numbers of minors flooding across our borders today show that the Obama administration has no intention of controlling the borders. They are more concerned with controlling the border guards and ordering them not to take pictures that show the public what is happening.

If you are serious about controlling the borders, then you pass laws to control the borders first. Some years later, after you can see whether the border has been controlled or not -- you can start discussing what our national immigration laws should be.

Otherwise, "comprehensive" immigration reform means granting some form of amnesty up front and promising to control the border later. How many more times are we going to fall for that bait and switch fraud?

Any Form of Legalization is Amnesty!

Conservative Daily June 13, 2014 Dear Conservative,
By now you have probably heard how Representative Eric Cantor, the GOP House Majority Leader from Virginia, lost his primary to a relatively unknown challenger.
There is no way to fully explain how big of a deal this was. Cantor was the second-most powerful Republican in the House of Representatives. He was John Boehner's right hand man -- for what that's worth -- and he ended up losing his Primary Election by TWELVE percent
That's right; the House Majority Leader lost a primary 12 percent of the vote to an unknown challenger.
As the dust settled, pundits began speculating on just what caused a House Majority Leader to lose in such spectacular fashion. Most agree that Cantor's pro-amnesty stance on immigration was responsible for Conservatives turning on him. He has favored amnesty and a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens, so it is not surprising that a solidly red district in Virginia would turn on a RINO, regardless of how powerful he might have been.
This should have served as a stark warning to both Republicans and Democrats of what happens when they go against the American people and support handing the country over to illegal aliens! This should have given the pro-amnesty people pause; taught them the error of their ways...
Unfortunately, it has done exactly the opposite and Eric Cantor and other Congressmen are pushing for amnesty before they run out of time!
After the voters had spoken, Eric Cantor announced that he was doubling down on amnesty for illegal alien children -- so-called "DREAMers."
For those who don't know, the DREAM Act failed to make it through Congress. It would have legislatively given amnesty to people brought to this country illegally as children when they had no control over the matter.
Congress failed to pass the bill and Barack H. Obama decided to whip out his pen and sign the bill into law himself, using an executive order!
It is no coincidence that since Obama has ILLEGALLY given amnesty to these children, Border Patrol has seen an unprecedented number of Central American children trying to sneak into the country. Hundreds of thousands of illegal alien children try to sneak into this country every year. They are told in their home country that if they can make it to the U.S., good-old Barry Soetoro will make sure that the mean-old Republicans won't turn them away.
In fact, not only has the Obama administration been welcoming these illegal children into the country and providing them with lawyers to fight deportation, now there are allegations of these children being bussed across the country as far as Massachusetts!
The solution to this problem is simple: you capture the children and turn them around, back into Mexico. You sure as hell don't start relocating illegal aliens across the country in clear violation of the law!
This is what Eric Cantor was pushing for, and this is why he lost handedly!
Now, Republicans and Democrats alike are scrambling to pass an amnesty bill before the voters remove them all from office! They have seen that their days are numbered and that they only have so much time to destroy this country...
We MUST stop this! We must make our representatives understand that a vote for amnesty, a vote for surrendering this country to hordes of illegal immigrants is not only unacceptable... It is TREASONOUS!
I urge you to fax Congress and let your representatives know that if they follow Eric Cantor's lead and hand this country over to the illegals, not only will it spell their own political death sentence, but they will be bonafide traitors!

Liberalism is the Ideology of Western Suicide

6/10/2014 - Pat Buchanan Townhall.com

For 10 days, Americans have argued over the wisdom of trading five Taliban senior commanders for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

President Obama handed the Taliban a victory, critics contend, and imperiled U.S. troops in Afghanistan when the five return to the battlefield. Moreover, he has inspired the Haqqani network and other Islamists to capture more Americans to trade.

But which represents the greater long-term threat to the safety and security of our people and nation: sending those five Taliban leaders to Doha, and perhaps back to Afghanistan, or releasing into the U.S. population last year 36,000 criminal illegal aliens with 88,000 convictions among them?

According to a May report of the Center for Immigration Studies, of the 36,000 criminal aliens who, while awaiting deportation, were set free by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 193 had been convicted of homicide, 426 of sexual assault, 303 of kidnapping, 1,075 of aggravated assault, 1,160 for stolen vehicles, 9,187 for possession or use of dangerous drugs, and 16,070 for driving drunk or drugged.

Those 36,000 criminal aliens are roughly equivalent to three-and-a-half divisions of felons and social misfits released into our midst. And this does not include the 68,000 illegal aliens against whom ICE declined to press criminal charges last year, but turned loose.

How goes the Third World invasion of the United States?

According to the AP, the U.S. Border Patrol's Rio Grande Valley sector made 148,017 arrests from Oct. 1 to May 17, while 62,876 were caught in the Tucson sector, the second-busiest crossing point.

That is almost 211,000 illegal aliens caught in just over half a year in just two sectors of the border. And that figure only tells us how many were caught, not how many got in, or how many of those caught were released and now reside among us.

Among those caught crossing into Texas these last seven months were 47,000 unaccompanied children. Border Patrol estimates that by Sept. 30, apprehensions of children and teenagers in this fiscal year could reach 90,000.

According to Gov. Jan Brewer, the feds have begun shipping illegal aliens, adults as well as children, from Texas to Arizona, "dumping" them into her state.

"This is a humanitarian crisis and it requires a humanitarian response," says Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski of the surge in children from Central America across the U.S. border.

Attorney General Eric Holder has risen to the crisis. The U.S. will now provide lawyers for children who enter illegally, to fight their battle in U.S. courts to stay.

"We're taking this historic step," says Holder, "to protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of our society. How we treat those in need -- particularly young people who are fleeing violence, persecution, abuse or trafficking -- goes to the core of who we are as a nation."

Somehow the core contention of James Burnham's "Suicide of the West," out 50 years ago this year, comes to mind. "Liberalism," wrote Burnham. "is the ideology of Western suicide." America and the West must face up to what is happening to our countries and our civilization. Or we are going to lose them both forever.

Treating with contempt U.S. and European laws, peoples from failed states of the Third World are steadily filling up our countries and reducing our native-born into slowly shrinking national majorities.

If this continues over many more decades, Western nations as we knew them will disappear forever, and be remade in the image of those who have newly arrived, and the countries whence they came. When, ever, did Americans vote for this?

What would constitute a pro-American immigration policy? A moratorium on all immigration until unemployment among U.S. citizens falls below five percent. A 15-foot security fence from San Diego to the
Gulf, with Border Patrol outposts every 10 miles. Fines and community service for businessmen who hire illegal aliens.

Europe is facing the same crisis. This past weekend, 5,200 migrants were caught on boats crossing from Africa to Italy. Spain and Greece, too, are major crossing points from sub-Sahara Africa and the Arab and Islamic world into the heart of Europe.

Yet as we saw in the May European parliamentary elections, the peoples of Europe are not going quietly into that good night that their elites have prepared for them. They want to preserve the unique countries that they once were. Frenchmen want France to remain France, as the Brits want to remain British.

And despite the names they are being called, there is nothing wrong with that. As Euripides wrote, there is no "greater grief than the loss of one native land."

The Republican establishment of Jeb Bush, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and the Senate hierarchy is prepared to collaborate with Barack Obama on a halt to deportations and partial amnesty.

If so, we shall find out whether the Republican Party still has a heart and soul, or whether, in the last analysis, it comes down to the money."

A Humanitarian Crisis of Greatest Magnitude

By Michael Snyder, Endofamericandream.com on June 9th, 2014

Some of us tried to warn that this would happen.  When you create incentives for people to come to the United States illegally, of course that is exactly what they are going to do.  In recent months, many political observers have breathlessly been watching to see if “amnesty” for illegal immigrants will get through Congress.  But as you will see below, the truth is that Barack Obama has already created a de facto policy of amnesty for most illegal immigrants, and word about it has spread quickly throughout Mexico, central America and South America.  If you are an illegal immigrant living in America and you haven’t been convicted of a crime, you are probably going to get to stay.  And if you would like to illegally immigrate to the United States, if you get blocked from entering a few times it is not that big of a deal.  You just keep trying until you finally get in.  And once you are successful, there are a whole host of “goodies” that you can sign up for – especially if you go to one of the “sanctuary cities” that Obama steadfastly refuses to crack down on.  In fact, the federal government actually has a website that instructs immigrants how to sign up for welfare programs once they arrive in the United States, and the Obama administration has actuallydistributed flyers that inform illegal immigrants that their immigration status will not be checked when they apply for food stamps.  So we shouldn’t be surprised at the massive influx of illegal immigrants that we are experiencing right now.  This is a problem of our own creation.
And it doesn’t take a genius to figure all of this out.
All you have to do is talk to the people that are coming here illegally…
Central Americans say news reports in their countries are encouraging them to make the journey north to the United States.
A mother and child told CHANNEL 5 NEWS that the message being disseminated in their country is, “go to America with your child, you won’t be turned away.
The people that are coming here illegally know what the score is.
They know that the Obama administration has basically no interest in enforcing the immigration laws.
As I mentioned above, Obama has already implemented a de facto policy of amnesty.  He has instructed officials to prioritize deportation cases that involve convicted criminals and to throw most of the rest out.  It is a form of “backdoor amnesty” that never received the approval of Congress.  This is something that I discussed in a previous article
Government officials have now been given a list of 19 factors to use when deciding whether to use “prosecutorial discretion” in deportation cases.
Essentially, what is going to happen now is that illegal immigrants are going to get to stay in the United States if any of the following apply….
-arrival in the U.S. as a young child

As you can see, these categories are so broad that almost all illegal immigrants will be able to fit into at least one of them.
And another Obama administration policy that allows minors that came to the U.S. as illegal immigrants to avoid deportation for two years has caused a massive influx of unaccompanied minors to illegally cross our borders
Obama instituted an immigration policy that the GOP says enticed tens of thousands of Central American children to cross America’s southern border illegally without any parents to guide them.
More than 33,000 have been picked up in Texas alone since October. The U.S. border patrol says its forces are overwhelmed, and the courts are bracing for a flood of immigration cases from children held in temporary detention facilities designed to handle a fraction of the numbers. Sanitation problems are beginning to rear their ugly heads.
Obama rolled out a controversial Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2012, allowing many illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors to escape deportation for two years. The White House gave them another two-year window last week.
In fact, it is being reported that twelve times as many kids are now crossing our borders illegally compared to the time period before Obama implemented this policy.
When border patrol agents round these kids up, they are shipped off to massively overcrowded holding centers where they often sleep on plastic cots without any blankets or pillows…
Mattresses, portable toilets and showers were brought in Saturday for 700 unaccompanied minors who spent the night sleeping on plastic cots inside an Arizona warehouse, a federal official said.
A Homeland Security official told The Associated Press that about 2,000 mattresses have been ordered to the makeshift holding center — a warehouse that has not been used to house people in years.
And the influx of illegal immigrants has been so great in Texas that federal officials are now often just putting them on buses and planes and “dumping” them in other states.  When Arizona Governor Jan Brewer found out about this, she was absolutely outraged
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Friday she is “disturbed and outraged” after she was informed by federal officials that not only has the government been shipping illegal immigrants out of Texas and “dumping” them in her state, it has no plans to stop.
Federal officials told Brewer Friday that the practice will continue for the foreseeable future, and this weekend more than 1,000 illegal immigrant children will be “dumped” in Arizona. Adults and family units will also arrive, though Brewer was not told how many, her office said.
And this is happening in California too
The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) revealed to Breitbart Texas that the San Diego Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol is making plans to receive, process, and then release 500 illegal aliens into the U.S. per week who were shipped in from Texas, specifically from the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector.
The specifics of how the illegal aliens are transported in unclear at this time, however, recently some have been flown at the tax-payers expense and some have been transported on buses.
So what do you think is going to happen to those illegal immigrants?
Do you think that they will dutifully report to immigration officials?
Perhaps a few will, but most of them will end up “disappearing” into their new communities.
Meanwhile, the Obama administration continues to castrate the border patrol.
While other federal agencies are being armed with machine guns and cutting edge weaponry, our border patrol agents are being given pepper spray and pellet guns.
And under one new policy, border patrol agents are instructed to run away and hide when illegal immigrants throw rocks at them…
The 21,000 Border Patrol agents that we now have are now being forced to retreat if illegals are throwing rocks at them and are no longer allowed to block drug smugglers paths as they try to make it into America with their shipment under the new directions from top administration officials.
From now on the agents must keep their weapons holstered as the vehicles drive by since the instructions state that they can’t use their weapons against “a moving vehicle merely fleeing from agents.”
The new rules that were signed by Michael Fisher, Chief of U.S. Border Patrol, force agents to flee when in harms way rather than defend themselves, saying “Agents shall not discharge firearms in response to thrown or hurled projectiles… agents should obtain a tactical advantage in these situations, such as seeking cover or distancing themselves.”
At this point why do we even have a border patrol at all?
It is obvious that the federal government could not care less about who comes into this country.
But the truth is that we all should care deeply about this issue, because it is having a huge impact on this nation.
According to the FBI, there are now approximately 1.4 million gang members living in our cities and a substantial percentage of them are illegal immigrants.
It has also been estimated that illegal immigrants now make up approximately 30 percent of the total population in federal, state and local prisons.
In addition, according to the Justice Department’s National Drug Intelligence Center, Mexican drug cartels were actively operating in 50 different U.S. citiesin 2006 but that number had skyrocketed to 1,286 by 2010.
And it is not just increased crime that we need to worry about.
It has been reported that one out of every five children living in Los Angeles County has a parent that is in this country illegally, and 57 percent of all households in the U.S. that are led by an immigrant (legal or illegal) are enrolled in at least one welfare program.
The cost to the taxpayers for all of this is almost incalculable.
But instead of cracking down on illegal immigration, the U.S. Congress is cooking up even more amnesty, and even some very prominent Republicans are supporting it.
In the end, I am certainly not against legal immigration.  On both sides of my family, my great-grandparents were immigrants.  The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we will always need legal immigration.
But as it stands right now, we have made legal immigration an absolute nightmare while keeping the backdoor wide open for gang members, drug dealers, serial criminals and welfare parasites.

We have created incentives for tens of millions of people to come storming into this country illegally, and in the end we are going to pay a great price for that.

Not Good, Not Now, Not Ever!

4/22/2014 - John Hawkins Townhall.com

When you allow unlawful acts to go unpunished, you're moving toward a government of men rather than a government of law; you're moving toward anarchy. And that's exactly what we're doing. -- John Wayne
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. -- George Orwell
Tell me why any American should respect the law?

Because it's moral? Not necessarily. Slavery was once the law of the land. Abortion is the law of the land today. Even in a nation like America, it's not unusual for laws to be unfair, unjust, and even immoral.
Is it because laws represent the will of the people? Not anymore. Today, the "law" is often summarily created from murky statutes by unelected bureaucrats who face no consequences for destroying people's lives.

Well, is the law at least equally applied? Absolutely not. Your political affiliation and how well connected you are to the regime in charge can have a direct bearing on whether you're prosecuted for breaking the law and how serious the penalty will be.

So, what's left?

Respect for the law? Why should anyone respect arbitrary, immoral laws that aren't equally applied and don't reflect the will of the people? Under Barack Obama, the "law" in this country has become nothing more than whatever you can get away with and we're likely to feel the consequences of that for decades to come.

1) Obamacare is whatever Barack Obama says it is: Barack Obama has no more legal right to change Obamacare all by his lonesome than Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, or for that matter, Justin Bieber does. He simply doesn't have the legal authority to delay the employer mandate, delay taxes that are written into law, or give subsidies through federal exchanges to places where no state exchange was set up. Yet, Obama has delayed or changed the meaning of the law 19 times as if he were Kim Jong- un, as opposed to the President of a republic.

2) There are different laws for Tea Parties and the Occupy Movement: In city after city, the Occupy Movement was allowed to protest without expensive permits, participants were allowed to illegally camp and in some places they were allowed to break the law with impunity, which is why it's so staggering that there were still almost 8,000 arrests by the time all the dirty hippies abandoned their tents and rape-free zones to go home and take showers. Meanwhile, Tea Party groups across the country weren't given any similar breaks.

Tea party activists...accused officials in at least four cities of giving preferential treatment to anti-Wall Street protesters, and one group in Richmond is asking the city to repay $8,000 spent for permits and other needs. ...The Richmond Tea Party said Mayor Dwight C. Jones' administration sought permit fees, portable toilets and other demands for their events, but has given Occupy Richmond a free pass. The occupation has grown to a tent city, with a makeshift library, a volleyball net and a row of portable toilets. Jones has said that because he is a product of the civil rights movement he has allowed the Occupy protesters to remain since Oct. 17. "He's sympathizing with them," said Colleen Owens, a spokeswoman for the Richmond Tea Party. "We would never, as a tea party, have gotten away with not complying with the law." Tea party organizers had to buy liability insurance, hire police and emergency personnel and even keep a defibrillator on site, Owens said.

When groups all across the country are charged thousands of dollars for permits and liability insurance solely because of their political beliefs while other groups are given a free pass, there is no equality under the law.

3) Illegal immigration becomes legal: Admittedly, George W. Bush did a mediocre job of securing the border and enforcing immigration law. However, as a practical matter, illegal immigration isn't "illegal" anymore. Obama has illegally passed his own version of the DREAM Act, illegally handed out work permits to people who are breaking the law, and for all intents and purposes, has stopped detaining illegal immigrants who haven't been charged with other crimes. According toSenator Jeff Sessions , "at least 99.92% of illegal immigrants and visa overstays without known crimes on their records did not face removal."
This is despite the fact that being here illegally is a crime and the people who broke that law did so knowing that the penalty was deportation. Tens of millions of immigrants have been welcomed to this country because as EVERYONE is well aware, we already have a "path to citizenship" for non- Americans and it's called following the law.

4) The IRS illegally targeted Tea Partiers: If the IRS ever comes after you, try refusing to hand over documentation for years and pleading the 5th Amendment and see what happens to you. If you're lucky, maybe you'll end up in the same minimum security prison that Wesley Snipes went to after some advisors convinced him he didn't have to pay taxes. Yet, after the IRS targeted Tea Partiers because they were conservative, tried to refer them for prosecution to the DOJ, and illegally released some of their information to outside parties, the IRS officials have been refusing to cooperate with the investigation. If the IRS wasn’t guiltier than Wesley Snipes, it would be cooperating just like the rest of us are forced to do when we face an audit.

5) Eric Holder encouraged state attorney generals to refuse to defend traditional marriage in court: In other words, if your state passes a ban on gay marriage, Holder wants state attorney generals to undercut the will of the people in order to further his political agenda. So according to Eric Holder, whether the people of a state get to have a representative in court depends on whether or not liberal attorney generals agree with their opinion or not. As John Suthers, the attorney general of Colorado, said:
I have been attorney general of Colorado for nine years, during which time the state has enacted laws that span the philosophical and political spectrum. I personally oppose a number of Colorado’s laws as a matter of public policy, and a few are contrary to my religious beliefs. But as my state’s attorney general, I have defended them all — and will continue to.
....Depending on one’s view of the laws in question, such a “litigation veto” may, in the short term, be a terrific thing; an unpopular law is defanged and the attorney general can take credit — indeed, he can be the hero to his political base and keep his political ambitions intact. But in the longer term, this practice corrodes our system of checks and balances, public belief in the power of democracy and ultimately the moral and legal authority on which attorneys general must depend.
....I fear that refusing to defend unpopular or politically distasteful laws will ultimately weaken the legal and moral authority that attorneys general have earned and depend on. We will become viewed as simply one more player in a political system rather than as legal authorities in a legal system. The courts, the governments we represent and, most important, the people we serve will treat our pronouncements and arguments with skepticism and cynicism.

When the "law" becomes little more than politics by other means, it deserves to be treated with the same rich contempt that we hold for politicians in this country. That has already started to happen, it's not good for the country, and much to the chagrin of the liberals who love this lawlessness as long as they're in charge, it's not going to end with Obama.
