Extremely Important Statements About Democrat Legislation and Amnesty

Congress Shouldn't Allow Mass Amnesty into Infrastructure Bill

7/31/2021 - Philip Singleton Townhall.com

Senate Democrats – including both Senators from my home state of Georgia - are trying to pull a fast one on the American people, most of whom won’t realize what has happened until after the fact.

Democrats hope to use the massive $3.5 trillion “infrastructure” bill as a vehicle to pass mass amnesty for a significant portion of the nation’s illegal alien population - without having to debate this controversial amnesty measure on its own merits. Some lawmakers hope to accomplish this via a maneuver known as budget reconciliation, whereby budget items can be inserted into a broader spending bill during the reconciliation process, with only 51 votes needed for approval.

It’s obvious this ploy is designed to bypass the usual procedures that help to ensure compromise in the Senate – the requirement of a 60-vote majority to avoid a filibuster. Such a move is wrong and is purposely, intellectually dishonest to the American people.

Every state in America needs help rebuilding roads, bridges, and tunnels, including my home state of Georgia. A recent report card issued by the American Society of Civil Engineers gave Georgia’s infrastructure rating a C+, saying less than 40 percent of the state’s bridges are in “good condition” and also highlighting a dramatic increase in high-hazard, deficient dams. America fared even worse, receiving a C- grade.

But throwing mass amnesty spending into the infrastructure mix - without allowing a transparent discussion on the Senate floor and without input from the American people - is an enormous mistake that will endanger public safety and national security.

In addition, the timing of passing stealth amnesty couldn’t be worse. A recent Harvard-Harris poll found that 74 percent of voters view the current surge in illegal immigrants as a crisis that needs to be addressed immediately. Nearly 7-in-10 (68 percent) voters said that messages from Biden's White House are encouraging illegal immigration. Illegal alien apprehensions are at a historic high, surpassing one million this fiscal year so far, with three more months to go. At this pace, illegal alien apprehensions could be at the highest level in U.S. history.

Offering mass amnesty in the middle of a national border crisis only adds fuel to a raging fire. The Biden Administration and Senate Democrats are sending a clear message that illegal aliens can freely violate our nation’s immigration laws and be rewarded with coveted American citizenship. Even worse, this action places illegal aliens at the front of the line - ahead of those who have long sought a legal citizenship path. Illegal immigration is already costing U.S. taxpayers at least $116 billion annually, and the tab will only increase with the passage of amnesty.

Incentivizing illegal immigration not only undermines our nation’s sovereignty and national security. It costs lives as well. This year alone, some 203 illegal aliens have been found dead in the desert or abandoned by their smugglers. There are also news reports of children who’ve been dropped at border walls or tossed into the Rio Grande River as a tactic to divert border patrol agents.  And many of the 7,000 illegal aliens are creating public safety issues for towns and communities across the country with crimes including assault, homicide, sexual offenses, domestic violence, property damage, etc.

Congress’ budget reconciliation process was never designed to intentionally hide and jam through legislation that could never pass on its own merits. As a member of the Georgia House of Representatives and an author of legislation addressing illegal immigration in my state, I understand how difficult the process can be. Lawmakers can and should face robust debate over proposed immigration reform measures. But if our elected leaders in Washington truly have the conviction to support amnesty for illegal aliens, they should have the courage to publicly fight for it.

If our elected leaders in Washington, DC, including Georgia Sens. Ossoff and Warnock, believe spending tax dollars in amnesty for illegal aliens is a measure worthy of their support, they should stop hiding the effort from public view, strip the budget item out of a national infrastructure bill, and have an open, honest debate regarding this highly controversial issue.

Hiding hundreds of millions - potentially billions – in spending to benefit those who enter our country illegally is a question that demands robust, transparent debate and the full attention of the U.S. Senate and the American people.

Knew It From the Up-start, Democrats Need for Votes -- Main Reason For Illegal Alien Invasion

There It Is: NYT Op-Ed Gives the Game Away By Wanting to Let Non-Citizens to Vote In US Elections

7/29/2021 - Julio Rosas Townhall.com

In a New York Times Op-Ed published on Wednesday, journalist Atossa Araxia Abrahamian makes the argument that in order to save American democracy then non-citizens must have the right to vote as well.

Titled, "There Is No Good Reason You Should Have to Be a Citizen to Vote," Abrahamian writes the 15 million people living legally in the United States, such as green cardholders, contribute to the betterment of the country but can not vote, but she does not stop at just green cardholders:

Considering the Supreme Court’s recent decision undermining voting rights, and Republicans’ efforts to suppress, redistrict and manipulate their way to electoral security, it’s time for Democrats to radically expand the electorate. Proposing federal legislation to give millions of young people and essential workers a clear road to citizenship is a good start. But there’s another measure that lawmakers both in Washington and state capitals should put in place: lifting voting restrictions on legal residents who aren’t citizens — people with green cards, people here on work visas, and those who arrived in the country as children and are still waiting for permanent papers.

"Expanding the franchise in this way would give American democracy new life, restore immigrants’ trust in government and send a powerful message of inclusion to the rest of the world," she adds, noting that "The strongest case for noncitizen voting today is representation: The more voters show up to the polls, the more accurately elections reflect peoples’ desires. The United States already has plenty of institutions that account for noncitizens: The census aims to reach all residents because it believes everyone, even aliens, matters."

Abrahamian's line of thinking is why some conservatives are concerned about the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. With thousands of people coming into the country illegally and many times released with little to no accountability, they are skipping the legal way to become U.S. citizens.

Abrahamian even acknowledges "Democrats are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries of this change — at least at first."  Following Abrahamian's logic, why wouldn't the change be extended to people who have been living in the U.S. illegally for years?

It does beg the question if this could be a reason why the Biden administration has ignored the crisis at the border? Their approach is not more compassionate than the Trump administration's, considering they wanted to discourage people from putting themselves in danger by traveling in perilous environments and paying criminal organizations that are known to abuse and kill migrants if they pay the price of admission.

Now, the Biden administration has incentivized illegal immigration by stating they won't apply Title 42 to unaccompanied minors and have been known to not apply it to family units with very young children.

Words Have Meaning -- This is an Invasion by Illegal Aliens -- Plain and Simple!

They Aren’t ‘Migrants,’ They Are Illegal Aliens

7/29/2021 - Derek Hunter Townhall.com

It’s the disappearing act of the year – the story of the illegal alien invasion at the southern border. More than a million people will march into the country with a sense of entitlement, encouraged and embraced by the Biden administration and every Democrat, and it’s like it isn’t happening. But it is happening, and the system is collapsing because of it, which can only be thought of as by design.

When you want to destroy something you don’t offer to “fix” it; why would you fix something you’ve denounced as “fundamentally racist?” No, you must destroy it so you can replace it completely. If it’s the economy, it’s capitalism that must be destroyed so the left’s socialist utopic dreams can replace it. If it’s immigration, the system must be overwhelmed and fail so “comprehensive” reform – code for amnesty and citizenship – can take its place.

A big part of that battle is semantical. There was a time, believe it or not, when illegal aliens were called illegal aliens by everyone. Why? Because that’s exactly what they are. But if you can control the language, you can eventually control everything. That’s the left’s strategy and it has worked.

Now, even many so-called conservative media outlets use the terminology of the left while discussing the issue. Rather than reports about illegal aliens, the term leftists have declared to be unacceptable, you hear about “migrants” or the “migrant crisis.”

The thing is, these illegal aliens swarming the border are not migrants.

Merriam-Webster, which surprisingly has not changed their definition to placate the left (at least not yet), defines migrant as, “a person who moves regularly in order to find work especially in harvesting crops.” While that might be a tiny part of what is flooding the border, it is decidedly not the majority. The vast majority are coming here to stay, with no intention of getting right with the law, simply hoping the law will make them right retroactively.

While the pandemic, and a president who actually gave a damn about the American people, would have every person caught sneaking into the country on a plane back to wherever they came from so quickly they’d barely have the chance to exhale on an American, let alone infect untold numbers of unsuspecting people, that is not what Joe Biden and Democrats want. Mandating masks back on, the rights of Americans curtailed, our lives threatened, but the flow of illegals rolls on, unabated.

Think I’m exaggerating? Axios reports, “About 50,000 migrants who crossed the southern border illegally have now been released in the United States without a court date. Although they are told to report to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office instead, just 13% have shown up so far.”

This is not unknown to the Biden administration, nor is it unknown to the left-wing media propping him up. It’s just ignored. Not because they don’t care, but because they do.

This is the plan – overwhelm the system, destroy it, offer up a plan that replaces it that includes what Democrats really want: citizenship for the millions of illegal aliens they’ve been cultivating as potential voters for decades.

Americans were always being killed by illegal alien criminals, news to the equation is being infected with COVID by them. That’s happening, not only with the passive acknowledgement of our tax collectors, but with their blessing.

How can I say that? Because the La Joya, Texas, police reported a group of illegal aliens infected with COVID were supposed to be quarantining in a US taxpayer funded hotel, of course, but were found hacking and coughing all over a fast food joint in the city instead. There were no consequences for that. They should have been catapulted out of the country, but they were likely just encouraged to abuse room service instead. Why would the honor system work on people who entered the country illegally, making it abundantly clear they have no honor?

Of course, the Biden administration officials overseeing and enabling this fiasco have no honor either, so it’s a match made in hell. And, unfortunately, thanks to that match, we’re all forced to live in that hell. We don’t have to; we can fight back. The first and easiest way to do that is to take back the language and remember this simple fact: there are not “migrants” rushing the southern border, they are illegal aliens.

A Down-to-Earth Commentary Asking Simple Questions

It's not the vaccine, stupid

By Robert Arvay www.americanthinker.com

Why do so many Americans resist being vaccinated against COVID?  Or is that what they are actually resisting?

When I was a child, I was vaccinated against a number of deadly diseases.  As an adult, I had my own child vaccinated.  On the whole, vaccinations have saved countless lives and prevented epidemics that would otherwise have ravaged our nation and others.

Yet today, with a pandemic that has gripped the entire world with fears of a plague of (what they call) biblical proportions, there is more resistance to vaccination than ever before.  In reaction, there are calls for "vaccine mandates," which would effectively force injections upon the population in vast numbers.  Why do so many people adamantly refuse to "take the shot"?

There is a reason.  Millions of Americans no longer trust their government.   The political left dismisses this distrust with its usual accusations of conservative ignorance, extremism, and racism, but those words, overused for many years, no longer coerce most Americans.

I know people who took the vaccine because their personal physicians, whom they trust, recommended it.  They were hesitant to accept that advice, but because of additional factors such as advanced age and complicated health issues, they finally gave in, fearing that for them, an infection might mean a death sentence.

However, when a bureaucrat demands that you be injected with a substance hidden behind walls of government censorship and secrecy, those with low risk factors are correct to be suspicious.  When that distrusted government starts making threats, it only further increases the suspicion.

To this day, there is no official, plausible statement regarding the origin of the China Virus.  (Even calling it by that name is deemed racist.)  There is a case to be made as follows:  the virus was engineered in a Chinese bioweapons research and development facility in the city of Wuhan.  It was released, either deliberately or through culpable negligence.  It then spread worldwide, due to the premeditated deception and travel policies of the Chinese government.

If this case is factual (the evidence for it is impressive), then China has committed an overt act of war and killed millions of people in the process.  Worse yet, it indicates a complete willingness of the Chinese communist government, in the near future, to recklessly inflict millions more deaths in the pursuit of its imperial designs.  We can expect more, and worse, from them.

What if that case is not factual?  If not, then one would expect complete and total transparency, from the Chinese, from the World Health Organization, and from the United States government.  None of them has been forthcoming.  Quite to the contrary, there has been continual reversal and self-contradiction in the official U.S. and WHO declarations.  The facts are shrouded in secrecy.  The Chinese government audaciously rejects any form of inspection and, indeed, punishes those of its people who speak out.

Combine these facts with other, unrelated reasons for which Americans distrust their government.  For example, why do Democrats so stubbornly resist audits of the 2020 elections if they have nothing to hide?  Why doesn't Joe Biden take the cognitive abilities test that Democrats insisted President Trump take?  (Trump passed with flying colors.)  Why are there no significant prosecutions of leftist demonstrators who burned large areas of cities, but people who defended their property are punished?  These are trust issues of major importance, yet the government turns a deaf ear.  Officials demand that we comply with their capricious regulations, and then themselves disobey those orders without consequence, as if they regard themselves not as our public servants, but as our masters and overlords.

Now those same government officials who do all that are approaching us with a needle and asking us to allow them to inject who-knows-what into our bodies, with absolutely zero credible studies about the long-term effects.

Utterly lacking in self-awareness, they wonder why we would even question them.
