Every once in a while - we desparately NEED 'Words of Wisdom' to shake our souls!

Getting Off the Road to Ruin

By Anthony J. DeBlasi www.americanthinker.com

Scripture informs us that “to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good”: wisdom, knowledge, ability to heal, faith, and much else (1 Corinthians 12:4-11). Apparently my lot was to sound off when what is natural, true, or beautiful is attacked — the reason for the following . . .

What must one do to be a good citizen in America? Be honest? Be truthful? Be industrious? Be generous? Heed the Ten Commandments? No, no, no, no, and no, according to mainstream consensus, at least since about 1960. It has in fact become usual to look the other way, as one social atrocity after another gets turned into a “right” and made “legal” by the rule of “political correctness.” So when, for example, children are done away with before they are born, a good citizen recognizes “the right to choose” the murder of babies in the womb. A good citizen must agree that “mercy killing” is not only for horses but for people. He and she must pretend that deviant sexual behavior does not psychologically damage young children and interfere with their normal development and with their family relations. The good citizen accepts perverted sex as a normal function of the body — like sneezing or scratching to relieve an irritation — instead of the gateway to new human life. Include the fib that fathers and mothers are not needed and bury it in the lie that there is no difference between men and women. Good citizens must take their political pills to remain politically and economically healthy, while all they hold most dear is threatened with extinction.

This blunt summary is intended to highlight what countless Americans have swallowed in the past several decades. To put it in one sentence: Yesterday’s outrage is OK today and today’s outrage is OK tomorrow.

It’s called “change,” that handy explanation for anything that promotes “progress,” regardless of direction, safety, or value. The first thing out of the mouth when hearing that word to justify something needs to be: Change to what? Without a reference to content, “change” is an empty word, a loophole for anything you can name. Is one-world government (e.g. the New World Order) a change we need? From the evidence, that is a world nobody wants. Should we welcome any change that delivers global dictatorship? Yes, if you’re a Marxist. Anyone who buys a One World Panacea, must be prepared to live in a world that prohibits freedom and denies all of which it does not approve.

After the two world wars of the previous century, a vanguard of smart alecks steeped in Marxist ideology decided that this country needed to be changed and brought up to date. This involved discarding all that came before their time. Plato, Aristotle, Jesus, Dante, Shakespeare, Confucius, and all previous luminaries of humanity were great fools that needed to be upstaged and corrected by pundits like Hegel, Karl Marx, John Dewey, and more recent examples of superior intellect and wisdom like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The list of new sages includes Saul Alinsky who cites the devil (in Rules for Radicals) as a model for action.

How can we ever make up for excluding destructive, degenerate, and barbaric action from the normal conduct of society? Is it possible to rebound from such a blunder?

Coming back to reality, America has been under the siege of barbarians for a very long time, enduring assaults on liberty, truth, and reality with little to show in response. Pressed to explain their contempt for normal life, followers of 1960s/1970s smart alecks are prone to redefine “normal” and bring up an alleged need for “tolerance and inclusion.” Tolerance of differences in people, such as ethnic and cultural origin, is a rewarding virtue. But tolerating policies and practices that demean life and degrade society are — to use their word — unacceptable. Millions have perished and suffered on account of such policies and actions, still being pushed by the so-called “left,” whose Marxist roots continue to generate civil unrest, conflict, and hatred among members of society.

The need to uproot such deep moral degeneracy is beyond question. A good place to start, I think, is to expose the nonsense of “private morality.” There is no such thing. There can be no justifying morality for killing infants about to be born. And their stage of development has nothing to do with decisions regarding justice. Those who deliberately abort a developing child must face the consequences of infanticide. There is no justifying morality for abusing the reproductive function of the body. Those who do must face nature’s backlash: a dysfunctional and unhealthy life.

These are plain facts of life. They’re not “conservative talking points” competing with “liberal talking points” for votes in a political contest. For it is not the business of majority rule to overrule the observance of justice. As Alexis de Tocqueville predicted and John Dewey demonstrated, democracy can become the tool of demagogues.

Freedom to do anything you want is not a “right.” Those who think it is have failed to notice that freedom in this world comes with unavoidable preconditions. Two that may not be rejected are conformity to reality and adherence to morality. Failure to hold firmly to these transcendent prerequisites defeats the freedom anticipated and predisposes one to the influence and power of those who in fact hate freedom. Those who despise freedom have no place in America, which was established to root out tyranny and endow its citizens with a government designed to ensure the fullest possible measure of freedom.

We owe Americans who hold to this original commitment to liberty and justice and who act to restore the level of sanity that made America a great nation our support and gratitude. And let us be thankful for a president dedicated to getting us off the road to ruin and letting us live as normal human beings instead of chattel of the state. Recalling the near-fatal shot at the president from a sniper, Trump’s ascension to leadership has been called (by The Liberty Daily) “the Quarter-inch miracle that changed the world.”

Thank Heaven for men such as this!

Tom Homan: The Illegal Aliens’ ‘Not Welcome Here’ Doormat

By Richard Blakley www.americanthinker.com

To a crowd cheering “USA, USA” Tom Homan walked out on the stage at the recent Turning Point USA summit.  Homan warned the crowd, “Look, I’m a bad a**.  I say bad things. So, look, let me start off by saying sometimes I use a bad word.  Sometimes, I’m harsh.  But if I offend anybody here, I don’t give a sh**.”

It’s good that we don’t have to wonder about what Homan really thinks.

Mr. Homan continued, “This is the second time I have come out of retirement for President Trump, who happens to be the greatest president in my lifetime.”

You have to stop and think about that statement.  This man has a retirement income and could be out by a lake somewhere, but instead when President Trump told him that his country needed him to serve once more, Homan rose to the occasion and is serving his country.

Homan continued,

So I was the first guy the President called, and I remember that after the election, I am out to dinner with my wife and the phone is sitting on the table, and all of a sudden it rings and it says ‘POTUS.’  My wife says, ‘sh**.’ She goes, ‘He’s going to ask you to come back.’  So, I walked outside and the first thing that was out of his mouth was, ‘Tom you been bitch’n about it for four years.  You wanta come back and fix it?’  Says, your d*** right.  Let’s go.

Then Homan spoke of Joe Biden, who taking the most secure border in Homan’s lifetime, under President Trump’s first term,  and “unsecured it on purpose,” being “the first president in the history of this nation to come into office and unsecured the border on purpose.”

Then Homan stated, “So, where are we at today?  Tonight, as I am talking to you, we got the most secure border in the history of this nation.”

The crowd erupted with cheers.

Continuing, Homan stated, “Illegal immigration — down 96%.  That means 96% less people are coming.”  Then Homan asked, “How many women are not being raped by the cartels?  How many children aren’t dying making that journey?  How many pounds of fentanyl isn’t getting into the country to kill Americans?”

Again, the crowd erupted with cheers.

Homan continued,

How many women and children aren’t getting sex trafficked, unlike the last administration?  President Trump’s policies are saving lives everyday…  I’m like a kid in a candy shop everyday, ‘cause I’m working with this guy and everyday is an adventure, ‘cause I knew he was going to let us do what we do, to not only secure the border, but remove millions of illegal aliens that Joe Biden let into this country.

Again, there were cheers and applause from the crowd.

Homan then said that under Biden’s administration, half a million children were trafficked into this country with Biden’s administration losing track of 300,000.  Then Homan stated, “Trump’s already found thousands of the children.”

The crowd cheered.

Then Homan went on to explain that some of these children were with family members, but some of the children were sex trafficked or in forced labor or both.  He stated that one man was found to have custody of 20 illegal alien children, most of which were female, and Biden’s administration “allowed that to happen.”  Homan said that President Trump and himself are not going to be satisfied until they find every child and save them.  Homan stated, “The last administration just didn’t give a sh**.  It’s just terrible.”

Homan stated that when you have child-trafficking into this country for sex or forced labor, he said he didn’t care which side of politics you are on: “All hands should have been on deck.  Under President Trump, all hands are on deck.”

Shortly after this, Homan’s speech was interrupted by a heckler yelling the question, “Are you an MS-13 member?”  The heckler was wearing a Trump hat and a t-shirt that said, “I identify as ultra MAGA.”  This guy was as much MAGA as the “left-wing activist” who incited Trump supporters while wearing a MAGA hat that entered the Capital on January 6th  This heckler was holding a picture of Homan with MS-13 tattoos written on Homan’s knuckles.  This was trying to make some kind of snide remark to Homan concerning the “Maryland Dad,” who, at least twice, was found to be a gang member by a federal immigration court.

In response to the heckler, Homan stated, “Why don’t you come up here and hand me that picture?  Bring it.  Bring it.”  Then he instigated the crowd to start saying “USA, USA.”  Then Homan said, “We’ve got morons like this all over the country.  This guy wouldn’t know what it is like to serve this nation.  This guy ain’t got the balls to be an ICE officer.  He ain’t got the balls to be a border patrol agent.  This guy lives in his mother’s basement.  The only thing that surprises me is that you don’t got purple hair and a nose ring.  Get out of here you loser.  And if you are such a badass, meet offstage in 13 minutes and 50 seconds… I guarantee you, he sits down to pee.”

Greg Gutfeld says, “Let this be an omen, don’t mess with Tom Homan.”  Gutfeld said, “[Homan] looks like the Thing with a hangover, which is a compliment.”  Gutfeld said, “Trump’s messaging does all the heavy lifting of deportation… Tom Homan just looking at them makes you want to board a bus and go to Tijuana.  He gives off a vibe that shaving cream is for wussies.  He is a walking talking version of the wall.” Then Gutfeld asked, “Is he not the perfect man for the job?”

On Fox News “The Five”, Gutfeld stated that we need to invent a word for when a person physically resembles their occupation.  Gutfeld stated, “I think it is called ‘a Homan,’ because Homan’s face is like the opposite of a welcome mat.  You see that face and you say, ‘I’m not sticking around in this country.’  He is a walking rockslide.”

America should be thankful for men like Tom Homan who serve our country with the heart of protecting American citizens and removing illegal aliens from our country who have entered the U.S., breaking immigration laws.  Also, there should be no question at all, that illegal aliens committing even more crimes in the U.S. should be kicked out of our country.

Tom Homan is face on the U.S. doormat that says, “Illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.”  Thank you, Mr. Homan, for your service to our country.

'Illegal immigration' - people protesting with their feet; has been the nemesis of our country for over half a century!

Polls, Propaganda, and the Truth About Trump’s Deportation Agenda

By Susan Quinn www.americanthinker.com

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s 2024 election, there was a mandate for him to stop the invasion across our borders. Overwhelmingly, the public wanted illegal aliens to be removed from our country, particularly those who were criminals. That’s when the controversy began:

President Donald Trump’s signature promise during his campaign was to carry out the ‘largest deportation’ operation in U.S. history, targeting all migrants “who violated the law coming into this country.”

Since anyone living in the U.S. without legal permission has broken civil immigration law, Trump would have to deport all of the 11 million to 12 million immigrants living without legal consent in the U.S., not just people who have committed serious crimes. Most immigrants living in the country illegally have been here longer than 10 years, so many longer-term residents would be deported.

In fact, since January, not long after his election, President Trump had already made clear that his initial focus would be on illegal aliens guilty of violent, truly reprehensible crimes:

‘Some of them are so bad, we don’t even trust their countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back,’ Trump said. ‘We’re going to send them to Guantanamo.’

He added, ‘It’s a tough place to get out of.’

The president said the move will bring the U.S. one step closer to ‘eradicating the scourge’ of migrant crime in communities, once and for all.

So, Trump made clear that the focus would be on removing criminal illegal aliens. He also stated that illegal aliens without criminal records who were found with those criminals would also be arrested.

In addition to lying about Trump’s promises, leftists have been demonizing ICE agents. Legislators and NGOs have demanded that ICE agents remove their masks and display identification. ICE agents aren’t wearing masks for fun or to appear intimidating. Instead, they’ve been forced to wear them to protect themselves from attacks and to prevent themselves and their families from being doxxed. In addition, leftists are accusing ICE agents of kidnapping so-called innocent illegal aliens. One of those accusations resulted in the accuser being indicted for conspiracy and false statements.

What do the American people currently think about mass deportation? It depends on whose polls you study. Some polls are structured to mislead people; whether that is done intentionally or not is irrelevant. What matters is that the polls will likely provide biased information.

One poll, from PBS News/NPR/Marist, provides what appears to me to be credible information, for it asked specific questions for determining who should be deported, and those questions adjusted their opinions according to those criteria. Here are examples:

  • Immigrants without permanent legal status in the U.S. who have been convicted of a nonviolent crime: 59% support or strongly support deportations of this group, while 40% oppose deportation. The level of support was higher among Republicans (86%) and independents (57%) than Democrats (36%).
  • Immigrants without permanent legal status in the U.S. who work in agricultural and food service: Overall, 55% oppose or strongly oppose deporting this group, while 44% support or strongly support deportations. These deportations saw a lower level of support among Republicans (73%), independents (40%), and Democrats (22%).
  • Students who are in the U.S. on temporary visas that have expired: Americans were split on whether they were OK with deportations of this group, with 49% supporting and 50% not supporting. Support for deportation was high among Republicans (77%), while 53% of independents and 72% of Democrats said they oppose or strongly oppose forcing this group to leave.

Although the public overwhelmingly thinks that people who committed violent crimes should be deported, they even support deporting those who committed nonviolent crimes.

The second item above, the opposition to deporting people who are working in this country, sends a different message: Americans value people who work and are not living off the dole.

And it’s no surprise that there is a split on students who have overstayed their visas. Republicans and independents refuse to make excuses for the students whose visas have expired. Those students may also have already completed their studies.

What also influences public opinion is whether they believe that certain industries need foreign labor. In California and Texas, both of which exploit illegal labor, significant percentages of farm and agricultural workers are illegal aliens. A left-leaning think tank contends:

The U.S. economy has experienced a labor shortage in recent years. In 2023, approximately 3.2 million jobs remained unfilled, including positions in vital sectors such as agriculture, construction, hospitality, health care, and manufacturing. These shortages are primarily attributed to an aging workforce and declining national fertility rates. Immigrants have already played a significant role in addressing these labor shortages, bolstering the U.S. economy, but additional workers are still needed. Without immigration, the U.S. population is projected to shrink after 2033 and with it, its workforce — generating greater labor shortages.

[snip]

Economically, deportations would worsen labor shortages in key industries, lowering productivity and driving up inflation. Mass deportations are costly and would strain U.S. public finances, potentially requiring the Trump administration to cut other programs or secure additional funding. Ultimately, these actions could weaken the U.S. economy and reduce the well-being of its communities.

Since polling data varies from one extreme to another (pro-mass deportation versus anti-mass deportation), I’ve tried to provide suggestions that seem to make sense in light of Trump’s original goals, the nation’s support of them, and our current state. These are the conclusions I’ve drawn:

  • Although Trump’s original focus was on arresting criminal illegal aliens, arrests are gradually shifting to non-criminals; that trend will likely continue.
  • Education for the public to better understand the role of ICE agents is necessary.
  • Mass deportations could proceed for many years, with costly implications.
  • The labor shortages have only continued to get worse, and there is no indication that homegrown citizens will make up for the loss.
  • An efficient, practical system is needed if illegal aliens are going to be hired and integrated into the U.S. workforce.

It’s time for the feds to get serious about dealing with the realities of illegal immigration.
